Post Otakon!

I can't believe this convention is over already! It feels like it was only yesterday that I was frantically trying to finish Mami and pack my bags with no sleep XD. I had an absolute blast at this con. No drama, no unfinished cosplays, and no missing con days! And I got to drag along some of my best friends to a con I've been wanting to attend for years! Woo!

I still can't believe I actually got Mami done (I will admit, we cut pretty damn close- as in my mom had to ship the finished corset to me on Friday morning). I think she might have taken the "Favorite cosplay ever" spot. I'm so so proud of how she turned out. I have a few things to fix before I wear her again, but for a con premiere, she did quite well. Thursday before the con wasn't very cosplay-y, since we explored an abandoned asylum and visited the wildlife sanctuary Julia works at before picking up our badges and getting dinner. I dunno how it happened, but it only took about 20 minutes to get them. When we were leaving, the line was stretched out the door and around the building! Yay dinner breaks?

Friday was all Madoka, with the lovely SkylitEyed as Madoka and Tara as Homura. I love love love our group so very much, even though I was dying a little in the Baltimore heat (Note to self- do not wear fully-boned corsets in 90 degree weather. It does not mix). We went to the Madoka photoshoot and met some awesome cosplayers (including RuffleButtCosplay, who was super nice and amazing), then played some Morton's List (which may have resulted in some FUS RO DAH and KAMEHAMEHA-ing) before leaving somewhat early.

The next day we had planned to go to the other Madoka photoshoot in swag versions of our cosplays, but because we decided to force Sarah and Julia into cosplays, we missed it. Afterwards I changed into Boa for a shoot with the lovely SoulFirePhotography, and changed again into Nami to do a shoot with the wonderful ckdecember, who also was gracious enough to take some pictures of our SOS Brigade (I may or may not have gotten sat on by Miss SkylitEyed... >.<). I am so excited to get the pictures back from everything (keep a lookout for them on PretentiousGoats- we're uploading everything on there first!). We derped around some more as the SOS Brigade until late, and then attempted to go to sleep early.

Sunday I had decided to schedule yet another shoot at 11am (not my brightest idea) for Madoka. We had found the perfect spot for taking pictures in a courtyard by the Radisson that looked like it was straight out of the anime, and we had wayyyy too many ideas for pictures. But it all turned out perfectly, and I'm hoping to get pictures back from the stupendous xinstrumental in time for the Mami cosplay contest on ACParadise... I might be spamming you all asking for votes.

I'm not altogether sure when my next con will be, since I might have RA duties during Matsuricon, and I'm hoping to make it to Youmacon (for which I'll have Starfire done, which I am super excited for). I'll have some more information soonish... hopefully. Until then, au revoir!
