Happy Holidays, and (almost) New Year! I hope everyone is having a safe and pleasant break. It definitely couldn't come any sooner for me. It's a new year coming up, and of course, for me it's filled with way too many cosplay plans. Also, I'd like to give a big ol' thank you to *Garivel, who very graciously gave me a year-long Premium membership! Of course, this probably means you'll be seeing more of these overly long journal entries, since I love changing up the journal skins.

A LOOK BACK AT 2012

I wasn't quite as productive as I was last year in terms of making new cosplays, but this also made my life a whole lot less stressful and disappointing, as I didn't promise to do a bunch of cosplays I couldn't finish. Never the less, I'm proud of each costume, as they all challenged me in very different ways.

Also, I never had a chance to write about Youmacon. I ended up wearing a closet version of Gwen Stacy (I bought the Marvel Unlimited subscription, and I've been marathoning Spiderman after seeing the new movie) after taking a Greyhound to Detroit. Then I just wore Mami around on Saturday for shenanigans, including Campbells Osoup (check Tumblr if you're intrigued), and said goodbye to people and drove home. I got a chance to actually hang out with awesome people I'd met briefly last Youmacon, which was all kinds of fun. I didn't end up finishing Starfire, since I was in a show and didn't have a lot of free time.

And now, 2013
Coming up first is Ohayocon, which I definitely get to attend. I don't really know when I'll be wearing things, but I should be cosplaying the following at various points during the con:

Mami Tomoe - Puella Magi Madoka Magica (WITH A GROUP Tara, ~SkylitEyed, *ArtemisMoon45, and ~Blackstarlee. EEEE All we need is a Sayaka and we'll have the full group. I can't even. So if you see this and you cosplay Sayaka, PM me cuz it'd be awesome to have a full group. Mami's pretty much become a staple for me at cons, and getting to wear it with a group again is super exciting. I'm going to try and have at least one of her rifles done, because I seriously need to make them and I want to have twofor Katsucon.)

Shinka Nibutani - Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (I watched the new episodes of this series every week. I know everyone was talking about Sword Art Online, but this was my absolute favorite series for 2012. With the lovely ~SkylitEyed as Rikka and her boyfriendo as DARKU FLAMU MASHTAH.)

Jane Crocker - Homestuck (After all of my refusal and apprehension when it came to this series, I finally ended up reading it in 2 weeks after Youmacon, and really legitimately enjoyed it. And I get to cosplay alongside the lovely ~PantySchatz as Roxy, so I'm all kinds of excited)

There might be a few other things that I may bring, but those are the definites. It'll probably be a lot of hanging out with friends and hopefully not too many costume changes, since Ohayocon is mostly just a big con that happens to be close.

Next on my list is Katsucon, which I am so so pumped for. It'll be my second con in Baltimore, and hot damn that hotel. If there is one gorgeous location con, it's Katsu. I'm definitely bringing Mami, but my main cosplay is going to be Marquise Spinneret Mindfang (also from Homestuck). If you're unfamiliar with the series, she's a badass pirate 8itch with a crazy coat that is going to be all kinds of... fun to make. But I'm very excited, and I'll be with ~PantySchatz again as Her Imperial Condescension.

After Katsucon, I'm not totally sure what cons I'll be attending. ACen, Colossalcon and Otakon are very likely maybes (I've never been to ACen, and I haven't been able to go back to Colossalcon since 2010), but after that who knows.

It's cool stuff. If you haven't played Katawa Shoujo and are looking to make yourself overly emotionally, play it), as well as reading copious amounts of Marvel Comics and trying to keep myself busy during the holidays before the big rush to start on things for Ohayocon and Katsucon. I'm very excited for the all the new stuff coming up, and look forward to a new con season full of costumes.
