Mami Tomoe - Puella Magi Madoka Magica

I just finished reading the Madoka spin-off manga A Different Story, and all I can say is that I CRIED. It focuses on Mami and Kyouko, and Mami ends up becoming Kyouko's teacher. It delves further into their backstories, which of course makes it all that much more depressing. Thus, I've been posting all Mami the past couple times I've updated (I should be getting a couple pictures from Ohayocon up here as well). I just love her so so much. I'm the oldest girl among my group of friends, and Mami's older sister attitude reminds me so much of myself. I got to do this wonderful shoot with ~Swoz at Youmacon, and I am so so happy with these shots. I finally have a picture that shows the entirety of this costume, of which I am so proud. Guh. THIS SHOW.

Hey, I just had a quick question about your corset. How did you choose what size to make it, and how much waist reduction did it give you? I'm not quite sure how to choose what size to use for that pattern, since I want some waist reduction, but I don't want to make the corset too small. Thanks!

Umm, I pretty much just used the size 12 that corresponded to my normal waist and hip measurements and went from there (since the bust measurement wasn't neccessary due to alterations to the pattern). I think it's more important for the corset to fit you before you do any cinching, because you can pull the laces as tight as you want later as long as you are still able to breath XD. In terms of waist reduction, I haven't really measured, but I think it's somewhere around 1-2 inches? The flexisteel boning really helps to make a nice cinched shape and isn't too uncomfortable to wear for hours as long as you don't lace yourself up too tight. I hope that helped! >.<
